In 1845, Sir John Franklin and his crew set sail in search of a Northwest Passage, never to return. The wrecks of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror were recently discovered thanks to Inuit knowledge, new technology and unprecedented cooperation. The wrecks are now part of the first national historic site in Nunavut to be cooperatively managed by Inuit and Parks Canada
